Alaniver Mailhost is an email hosting service: mailboxes and aliases on domains you own, run on a mail server we operate ourselves, hosted in the EU. The subscription includes every feature of the service; the plan size sets only how much storage your mailboxes may use in total.
Prices are €1 per gigabyte per month, excluding VAT. VAT is added at checkout based on your location, and the final amount is shown before payment. Paying yearly gives a 25 % discount. Subscriptions renew automatically until you turn automatic renewal off in the dashboard. Payment is processed by, and the subscription is sold by, Polar Software, Inc. (merchant of record); we never see or store your payment details. If you add storage mid-period, you are charged immediately only for the remaining part of the current billing period, and the full increased price is charged from the next renewal onwards. Reducing storage takes effect at the next renewal, and the current period is not refunded.
The service is set up immediately after you order, at your express request: when confirming the order you separately request that delivery begin at once and acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal once the service has been provided to you. We store this consent with a timestamp. You can turn automatic renewal off at any time from the dashboard: the subscription then runs to the end of the paid period, and unused parts of a paid period are not refunded. After the period ends mailboxes stop receiving mail. We keep your data for 30 days so you can export it, and delete it permanently afterwards.
You must own or be authorised to use the domains you add — this is why we require a DNS proof of ownership. You are responsible for the content sent from your mailboxes, for keeping passwords safe, and for complying with Finnish and EU law. Sending spam, phishing or malware is grounds for immediate suspension.
We aim for continuous availability but do not promise a specific uptime percentage. We take daily backups and keep the platform patched. We do not read your mail, sell your data, or use it for advertising. Spam filtering happens on the server and nothing about your messages leaves it.
We may suspend an account for unpaid invoices, abuse, or activity that endangers the service or other customers. Where circumstances allow, we notify you first and give a chance to fix the issue.
Our liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the service during the preceding three months. We are not liable for indirect damages such as lost business or lost profits. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Finnish law.
We may change these terms and prices. Existing subscriptions keep their price until the next renewal, and we tell you by email at least 30 days before a change affects you. Material changes give you the right to cancel without penalty.
Finnish law applies. If a dispute cannot be settled between us, a consumer may take it to the Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi) after first contacting the Consumer Advisory Service (kuluttajaneuvonta.fi). You may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr. Otherwise disputes are handled in the district court of the service provider's domicile.
